Deliver VoiceAbility as a licensed facilitator
VoiceAbility is a licensed program. To deliver it, facilitators complete accredited training in the full curriculum framework — including the evidence base, cohort profiles, delivery structure, and disability-specific adaptations. The curriculum integrates three overlays across all five modules: • Psychology overlay: CBT micro-skills (thought-feeling-action reframing), motivational interviewing (confidence rulers, change-talk, reflective listening), positive psychology (strengths-first, achievement spotting), social learning (model → guided practice → independent practice), behavioural activation (one action in 48–72 hours), and self-determination theory (autonomy, competence, relatedness). • Occupational therapy overlay: executive-function scaffolding (visual agendas, First/Next/Then, checklists), sensory regulation (fidgets, grounding, movement breaks, low-stimulation seating), functional participation (appointment preparation, phone scripts, documentation routines), environmental adaptation, and occupational identity work. • Trauma-informed and disability-safe facilitation: visible agendas, predictable transitions, choice in participation mode, teach-back, 48–72 hour action planning, and active use of Standard Cognition and Supported Cognition pathways. Licensed facilitators receive comprehensive training, participant and facilitator materials for all five modules, cohort-specific adaptation guides, and ongoing professional development support.
Three levels of facilitator accreditation
VoiceAbility is a licensed program. Facilitators are accredited at one of three levels, each with its own training requirements, licence term, and scope of practice. All facilitators begin at Level 1 and progress as skills, experience, and capability develop.
Associate Advocate Facilitator — 2-year licence
Entry-level accreditation. Training covers the full VoiceAbility curriculum framework: the evidence base (trauma-informed practice, disability rights, and the psychology and OT overlays), all five modules, the universal session blueprint, facilitator micro-skills and scripts, safeguarding and escalation protocols, and the fidelity checklist. Facilitators are trained to deliver both the Standard Cognition and Supported Cognition pathways. Full facilitator guides, participant workbooks, activity sheets, handouts, planning tools, and regulation toolkit cards are included. Suitable for practitioners in disability, allied health, education, or community services entering the VoiceAbility delivery network.
Certified Empowerment Facilitator — 3-year licence
Intermediate accreditation for facilitators who have completed Level 1 and demonstrated competent delivery across at least two cohort streams. Advanced training deepens skills in the psychology overlays (motivational interviewing, CBT micro-skills, behavioural activation), the OT overlays (executive-function scaffolding, sensory regulation, functional participation), and cross-cohort adaptation — including nuanced Supported Cognition delivery for participants with intellectual disability, ABI, psychosocial disability, or high cognitive load. Includes peer mentoring participation, professional development requirements, and access to VoiceAbility's facilitator community. Suitable for practitioners seeking to deliver across the full program scope with greater independence and depth.
Lead Champion Facilitator — 4-year licence
Senior accreditation for experienced VoiceAbility facilitators who are ready to mentor others, lead fidelity review processes, and contribute to program development. Level 3 facilitators can supervise and support Level 1 and Level 2 facilitators, conduct post-delivery fidelity checks using the six fidelity markers, and participate in curriculum review and adaptation. Partnership and co-delivery opportunities with Ability Advocates are available at this level. Suitable for senior practitioners, team leaders, or organisations seeking to build internal VoiceAbility capacity and contribute to the wider program network.
