Safe Peer Spaces to Practice Voice and Confidence

Peer Support Groups are safe, guided spaces where registered participants can practise confidence, voice, self-expression, and shared learning with others. These groups are peer-led and guided, supportive and optional, and focused on confidence, voice, and shared learning. They are not VoiceAbility program delivery, licensed training, or formal accredited sessions. For structured VoiceAbility programs, modules, or accredited delivery, participants must register through the main VoiceAbility registration system.

Safety, access and group boundaries

Safety, Access and Group Boundaries

Peer Support Groups are designed to be respectful, trauma-informed, and non-clinical. Group agreements help create a safer space where participants can choose how they engage, what they share, and when they need a break. Participants are encouraged to listen respectfully, share only what feels safe, respect other people's privacy, use inclusive and supportive language, and recognise that everyone's voice and experience is different. Confidentiality is expected within peer spaces, with clear safety limits. If there is a concern about immediate safety or risk of harm, support may need to be escalated through appropriate pathways. Peer Support Groups are not therapy, counselling, crisis support, legal advice, or formal program delivery. VoiceAbility aims to support access through clear information, inclusive communication, and reasonable adjustments wherever possible.
